Mr. Fakhar Zaman is not only a sagacious scholar of that saga, but he also stands out for his spiritual, intellectual, emotional and cerebral affinity, affiliation and affection with motherland.
It is an admitted fact that he enjoys command over English and Urdu languages, as his literary works show, but his priority and preference to Punjabi language as an instrument of his expression, makes it crystal clear that he has interwoven his soul with the love for the language in which he had heard lilting lullaby in the lap of his mother in infancy.
His personality has different dimensions. In every aspect of his life, he maintains his individual identity.
In his writings, he has exposed unholy evils covered in the cunning cloak and sham shell of piety, modesty and crafty conventions of ethics.
In his poetry, there is a message of human brotherhood, fortitude and cosmopolitan outlook for humanity. This couplet taken from his blank verse manifests the magnitude of his mature mind and tolerant trait of his personality.
فخر لبون سي پهول بکهيرو،
اپني دل مين خار چهبولو.
O Fakhar! From your tongue,
let the fragrant flowers be born,
even though, your heart is hurt,
with many a prickly thorn.
Mr. Fakh Zaman deserves to be crowned with a coronation of credit for according national status to all languages of the land that were relegated to regional dialects on the land of their origin.
