Tribute to Fakhar Zaman by Sobho Gianchandani

Mr. Fakhar Zaman is a distinct scholar, writer and organizer of literary services.

He has suffered in his life as much as probably we have. His books were banned and he has been the organizer of Punjabi literary movement, both here in Pakistan and throughout India. Whenever, he has taken over the charge of Chairmanship of Pakistan Academy of Letters he has put a new life in the organization.

The last time when he was Chairman of Academy, he constructed the buildings of the academy according to the needs of it.

It was under his inspiration that, an international guesthouse was built for the writers from the country and abroad.

Whenever, he has taken over as a Chairman of PAL, the academy takes on a new lease of life, we have more literary conferences still remembered the last international conference in which the writers from socialist countries had also come.

The directory of PAL shows that immense labour was put behind the directory in preparation of these literary activities.

May he live long and continue to lead the academy both on the sides of Pakistani Languages as well as his particular hobby of international Punjabi literature.
